The Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia (CCEA) is responsible for the assessment of qualifications and skills for:
Migration to Australia
In accordance with the Migration Regulations 1994, the CCEA has been specified by the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection as the gazetted assessing authority for the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) General Skilled Migration program for the occupation Chiropractor (ANZSCO 252111).
Registration in Australia
In accordance with the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act 2009, as in force in each state and territory, the CCEA is responsible for performing assessments of the knowledge, clinical skills and professional attributes of overseas qualified chiropractors seeking registration in Australia with the Chiropractic Board of Australia (CBA).
Registration in New Zealand
In accordance with the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the New Zealand Chiropractic Board (NZCB) has adopted the CCEA qualification and skills assessment process for overseas qualified chiropractors seeking registration in New Zealand.
Criteria :
The CCEA Assessment Process consists of the following two stages:
- Stage 1 – Desktop Audit: a paper-based application to be completed by all candidates wishing to migrate to Australia and/or register in Australia or New Zealand.
- Stage 2 – Competency Based Assessment: composed of written and practical assessments undertaken in Australia or New Zealand by overseas-qualified candidates wishing to register in Australia or New Zealand.
