CA ANZ is approved by the Department of Home Affairs to perform a full (permanent) skills assessment for Skilled Migration and Employer Sponsored visas and a provisional skills assessment for recent graduates of Australian Education Institutions applying for a Temporary Graduate Visa – Subclass 485 – Graduate Work Stream.
The provisional skills assessment is only for international students who have recently completed an Australian qualification.
CA ANZ will assess your educational qualifications and skilled employment to determine if they meet the educational standards for the following occupations:
- Accountant (General) – ANZSCO 221111
- Management Accountant – ANZSCO 221112
- Finance Manager – ANZSCO 132211
- Taxation Accountant – ANZSCO 221113
- External Auditor – ANZSCO 221213
- Corporate Treasurer - ANZSCO 221212
CA ANZ endeavours to complete applications as soon as possible, however please refer to our approximate processing times. An urgent request may be considered. You must clearly explain your reason along with evidence to support your request.
Ensure you understand the details of your personal visa requirements as set by the Department of Home Affairs or engage the services of a registered migration agent (MARA) to assist you with your visa application before submitting your skills assessment application to CA ANZ. CA ANZ does not provide migration advice or any updates regarding your visa application.
Criteria :
Full (Permanent) skills assessment criteria
If you are applying for a full (permanent) skills assessment, you will need:
- an Australian Bachelor degree or 12 unit accredited Australian Master degree OR an overseas qualification comparable to at least the level of an Australian Bachelor degree
- to have successfully completed all mandatory competency areas that are relevant to your nominated occupation
- to provide evidence that you have met the English language proficiency requirement

If you are applying for a provisional skills assessment, you will need:
- an Australian Bachelor degree or 12 unit accredited Australian Master degree in accounting or relevant field;
- to have successfully completed all mandatory competency areas that are relevant to your nominated occupation
- to provide evidence that you have met the English language proficiency requirement

Australian and New Zealand qualifications
If you have completed an Australian or New Zealand qualification, you can use CA ANZ accredited tertiary courses (ATC) lists in the Related Downloads section below to ensure you have completed all of the mandatory competency areas for your skills assessment:
- Choose the Accredited Tertiary Course list below relevant to the year you started your course
- Locate your tertiary institution
- Choose your level of qualification from the schedule
- Check your subject codes and subject names against the required competency areas in the schedule
Overseas qualifications
To assess the general education level of overseas tertiary qualifications, CA ANZ follows the guidelines of the Australian Government, Department of Education and Training (formerly AEI-NOOSR).
When it has been established that your qualification is comparable to at least the level of an Australian Bachelor degree, CA ANZ will then examine the individual subjects to determine if they cover the required competency areas.
If your qualification is not listed in the above guidelines, you need to submit your qualifications for individual assessment by the Australian Government, Department of Education and Training (formerly AEI-NOOSR).
The process to Apply:
To apply for a skills assessment submit the completed ‘Australia Immigration – Application for Skills Assessment’ form with supporting documents to us via this e-mail qualsassess@charteredaccountantsanz.com.
If you submit an application for a combined assessment (qualification and skilled employment), we will assess your skilled employment only if your qualifications have been assessed as suitable.
After submitting your skills assessment application, you will receive an acknowledgement email with CA ANZ reference number and information to track your application progress.
At the completion of your application, CA ANZ will issue your outcome letter via email in secured PDF format which can be submitted to the Department of Home Affairs as evidence of your skills assessment. Skills assessment letters are valid for a period of 3 years from the date of issue.
You can appoint a Migration Agent to submit your skills assessment on your behalf. It is at your discretion if you wish to use a migration agent or not.

The processing time is calculated from the date the application is received with all required documents.
If you wish to withdraw your application an administration fee of AUD$80 will be charged in all cases. However, if any preliminary work has commenced or the skills assessment has been completed, a refund will not be issued.
