Requirements for Skills Assessment
This occupation requires a qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate IV or higher, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation.
Applicants must also have at least one year of highly relevant, post-qualification employment, at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years.
Or alternatively, a qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III in a highly relevant field of study and at least three years of post-qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years;
Or alternatively, a qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate IV or higher qualification without a highly relevant field of study and at least two years of post-qualification highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years.
Applicants will not meet the required skill level if:
the qualification(s) are not at the required educational level;
all of the employment is before the qualifications assessed at the AQF Certificate III or Certificate IV level, unless they also have three years of highly relevant employment in addition to at least one year of highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years.
A positive assessment of both qualification level and employment duration is
required for a positive Skills Assessment outcome.

*This includes qualifications assessed at AQF Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor, Graduate Diploma, Master and Doctoral level.
Employment
Pharmacy Technicians fill and label patients' prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist. May record details of, place orders for, take stock of, and store medications and medical supplies and deliver them to patients.
Tasks include:
referring prescriptions to Pharmacists and assisting in preparing medications
filling and labelling patients' prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist
record details of, place orders for, take stock of, and store medications and medical supplies and deliver them to patients
Other tasks may include:
compounding products under the supervision of a Pharmacist
managing stock levels and inventory in pharmacies or on wards
assisting with medication audits, reports and reviews
supporting clinical pharmacists in their routine work, such as screening patients or gathering information for pharmacist review
In Australia, there are currently no legal requirements for licensing or registration for the occupation of Pharmacy Technician.

Most occupations in this unit group have a level of skill commensurate with the qualifications and experience outlined below.
In Australia:
AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
In New Zealand:
NZ Register Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.
Registration or licensing may be required.
The occupation Pathology Collector (Aus) / Phlebotomist (NZ) has a level of skill commensurate with the qualifications and experience outlined below.
In Australia:
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
In New Zealand:
NZ Register Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
